Hello,
Looking forward to getting a new Elroq in early July after years of Land Rovers. (Yes, I know! But they have their plus points especially in a remote rural location like ours - and they tow well which has been important to us up to now.) Be nice to have something less expensive to run and repair!
New Elroq due in early July. Looking at home charger installation.
Stuart,
Good luck with your Elroq.
I would recommend a "Zappi" EV charger especially if you have Solar Panels.
The Zappi has 3 charging modes "Fast", "Eco" and "Eco+" and also connects via WiFi or can be hard wired via CAT 5/6 cable to your router (this is the way I went as it is a good bit away from my router).
The 3 modes are as follows:
FAST Just supplies car with max charge regardless.
ECO Uses a combination of both energies but it minimizes using the power from the grid.
ECO+ Uses only renewable energy.
It will still work as a stand alone EV charger if you don't have Solar panels in "FAST" mode.
